As we approach the end of the year and get ready for Christmas it is time to make plans for the 2014 year and the events that are coming in the South Carolina Division. After we all gathered and honored our great heroes General Lee and General Jackson at our local Lee/Jackson Banquets. Then after we are finished on the first Saturday of February for our annual South Carolina Division Leadership Conference, it will be time for the Division to meet in Florence, South Carolina for our Division Convention.

The Pee Dee Rifles are honored to host the 2014 SC Division Reunion. Below are some facts and information to pass along to your Camp. With your help, this will be one of the best conventions in recent years. All of the plans have been made. Now we need your support promoting it!

  • Date – March 28/29, 2014
  • Host Facility – Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing Technology (same as 2010 – 1951 Pisgah Rd, Florence SC – behind Florence Darlington Tech)
  • Registration Packet published to Division ($55 early registration – Before Dec 31st)
  • Dedicated convention email (2014scdivisionreunion@gmail.com)
  • Website with information and forms (www.peedeerifles.homestead.com)
  • Friday Night Social – Fish Fry/Low Country Boil ($20 per person)
  • Entertainment provided by Stan Clardy
  • Convention Program – 50+ page – high quality publication similar to the ‘Confederate Veteran’ featuring cover art by Don Troiani
  • Ancestor Memorials – Photos can be substituted in place of cross of honor
  • Convention Medal modeled after an 1899 UCV reunion medal
  • Large selection of vendors
  • Museum quality displays including pieces from the Confederate Relic Room, and several substantial private collections.
  • Two flags from the 1899 UCV Reunion in Charleston will be displayed for the first time in decades.
